Foodie thoughts


Glad to see that Scandinavian food is to be the next big thing. What has taken people so long? It isn't all pickles and herring. Although these are really lovely. Fabulous fish, cheese, meat and lots, lots more. Plenty to suit everyone.



Tambohus Kro
Fish Plate: marinated herring and Tambohus herring with apple salad, shrimp with mayonnaise and boiled egg, fish cakes with homemade tartare sauce


Yes, I know it's pickles and herrings, but how gorgeous is that?. It just makes me wish I was back there. Tambohus Kro is located on the Limfjorden, North Jutland, Denmark. The Limfjorden is particularly famous for its mussels and oysters, yum.

Lunch plate: marinated herring with apple salad, Fillet of pork with stewed mushrooms and cheese, strawberries & blueberries

Hopefully will make a return visit to sample some more delicious food and views.

    Certainly agree about the delicious food, in fact we had my 60th birthday lunch at Tambohus last year & is memorable for the high quality and good service - English is spoken at the hotel(kro).
